as + adj + as + S + V…
例:As popular as you
are, you cannot get your own way on every issue.
雖然你很受歡迎,你也不可能在每個議題上為所欲為。
說明:
I. as + adj + as 與 though 和 as 的功用相同。
As popular as he was, he lost the election.
→ Popular as / though he was, he lost the election.
雖然受歡迎,他還是選輸了。
II. as + adj + as也可用副詞(如nonetheless,
nevertheless, however, even so 表達。
As rich as he is, he cannot get anything he wants.
→ He is rich; nonetheless, he cannot get anything he wants.
→ He is rich; nevertheless, he cannot get anything he wants.
→ He is rich; however, he cannot get anything he wants.
雖然他有錢,他還是無法得到任何他要的東西。
