Life isn’t always about saying “Yes” to
everything. We have to think seriously about the consequences. If we promise
someone to do something, we should keep the promise; otherwise, we will lose
credibility. In reality, sometimes saying “No” is a wise decision.
I can remember one time that I said “no” to my
friends. A school volleyball game was approaching, and we had to practice every
weekend. But one weekend, my friends asked me to go to a party with them. It
was an afternoon party, and going to it would have meant missing volleyball
practice. It was a hard decision to make, but in the end, I said “no” to my
friends, and told them I had to practice volleyball that day. I was surprised
that they didn’t get angry. Instead, they completely supported my choice.
Through this experience, I learn it is not rude to
say “no” to others when it is necessary. Sometimes, it is the right thing to
do.
