1.doubt : v. 懷疑(/不相信)

2.suspect : v. 懷疑(/相信)

注意: 動詞 doubt, 與 suspect

在中文裡, 都可翻譯為 "懷疑" ,

但是在英文裡,

1.doubt 是 "不相信"

2.suspect 是 "相信"

our team will win.

我們的隊 會贏. ))

2. I suspect (that)

he murdered his wife.

(( 我懷疑(/我相信)

他謀殺他的老婆. ))

注意 :

兩個字, 在 中文裡 均表 "懷疑"

之義, 但在 英文 的意義, 差別很大,

1.doubt :

指 對 某事, 某人 存有疑點,

但 主觀上 不敢肯定(/不相信)

2.suspect :

在 主觀上 的 疑心, 比較確定

(/相信)

例1.

I doubt

whether he has told me the truth.

(( 我 懷疑(/不相信)

他是否告知我真相. ))

例2.

I suspect (that)

he has not told me the truth.

(( 我懷疑(/相信)

他未告知我真相. ))

1. doubt : 可當 "動詞" 或 "名詞" ,

都是懷疑(/不相信)

bt在 字尾, 字母 b 不發音

2. suspect :

a. 動詞 : 懷疑(/不相信)

b. 名詞 : 嫌疑犯

注意 : suspect 是 "破音字",

重音: "名前動後"

名詞在前音節,

動詞在後音節.
